On March 6th we will officially begin the season of Lent with our Ash Wednesday Service. Lent is a time when Christians all around the world prepare for the death and resurrection of Jesus. As we prepare for this event, our guiding theme will be Praying to the Cross. It is my hope that during Lent you will spend a little time each day reflecting and praying on what it means that Jesus died and rose for you. To help walk with you during this season a few extra things will be offered:
Mid-Week Worship Services: During the Wednesdays of Lent we will gather for soup and fellowship at 6pm followed by Holden Evening Prayer at 7pm. These services are contemplative and will offer you an opportunity to ponder God’s Word in the middle of your week.
Pre-service Individual Prayer: 15 minutes prior to Sunday morning worship and 15 minutes prior to Holden Evening Prayer you will have an opportunity to receive individual prayer at a new kneeler that will be placed to the left of the altar. During this time you will be able to bring any of your prayer concerns and lift them before God.
Spiritual Coaching: Coaching is a process in which two people partner in a thought-provoking way to gain insight. During the season of Lent you will have the opportunity to dig deeper into your faith and explore your spiritual life though spiritual coaching. Please contact me to schedule a time at [email protected].
Lent can be one of the most spiritually active liturgical seasons. By taking advantage of these offerings I wouldn’t be surprised if you gain needed insight, comfort, and clarity regarding what God is doing in your life. Do not let this season pass you by.
In Christ,
