Luke 14: 16-24, Unhospitable Guests
Do you know what it feels like when you invite people and no one shows up? Major life transitions and achievements like baptisms, weddings, graduations, anniversaries, retirements, and funerals; they require public witness, and yet, more and more people report that their guests don’t show up, even after RSVP’ing “Yes!” And more and more hosts sit alone at the wedding banquet or kid’s birthday party with tears in their eyes. Why is that so? And what can we do to foster relationship, so that people do show up, when they say “Yes”?
