10:00 am Worship
We welcome you to worship this Sunday!
This Sunday, Pr. Olaf is the presider, and Pr. Kristin-Luana is the preacher.
Here is this week’s Sermon News:
Philippians 2:1-13: Seven Generations
The Seven Generation Principle is deeply rooted in indigenous thought. It is known to the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Maori, and many other indigenous communities. It describes a way of life that shows care for the generations to come. This philosophy acknowledges that what we do today has consequences for tomorrow. At least seven generations will benefit or suffer from the decisions we make today. Do we want our children, our children’s children, our children’s children’s children to thrive? Then we need to manage our resources well today.
There is a poignant saying in French which captures the opposite of the Seven Generation Principle: “Après moi, le déluge.” In English, “After me, the deluge.” This saying refers to a ‘It’s all about me” attitude, the deliberate choice to NOT care about future generations and to put oneself in the here and now before everyone else.
Which way are we choosing to follow? Come and hear more this Sunday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 10 AM, 745 Front St. S, in Issaquah and on YouTube.
