Luke 12:5-19
As we continue our visioning process, we try to open ourselves up to what God has in store for us, right in this place at this time. Too often we get overwhelmed with Church decline. It is true that Sunday attendance goes down, and many contemporary people including our children and grandchildren don’t see the necessity to have a church home. That phenomenon is not unique to Our Savior. Most churches in most denominations have the same experience. It seems that Christianity is becoming increasingly irrelevant. Don’t fall into depression just yet. Globally, the Christian Church is not declining, but it grows exponentially, but the center of the Christian faith shifts from the Western world to the global South. That is not necessarily bad. But it is good to remember that this Sunday service and this church are part of the biggest religious movement on the planet. However, the church that we know and love will change.
