This evening, Pr. Olaf is the presider, and Pr. Kristin-Luana is the preacher. Here is tonight’s Sermon News:
Christmas Eve: Jesus is God Walking in Somebody Else’s Shoes
Jesus is God walking in somebody else’s shoes. Think about it. When God comes to earth, God could choose every form God likes! God could come as a princess, surrounded by servants who brush her long wavy hair, apply her make up, and help her dress in her golden outfit. God could come as a general, leading a large and dangerous army and destroying everything in his way.
But God chose to be Jesus, son of Mary and Joseph. Jesus came to a poor family which turned into a refuge family when Jesusʻ life was threatened by king Herod and his soldiers. A greater contrast than that between all-powerful God and all-vulnerable Jesus can hardly be imagined. And yet, they are one and the same. How is that possible? Let’s ponder this question together on Christmas Eve at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 745 Front St. S, Issaquah, and on YouTube.
