Revelation 21 and 22: The Heavenly Jerusalem
The heavenly Jerusalem. A place made of gold and precious stones, accessible to all. The place from which the river of life originates and where a tree can grow on both sides of the river and bear different kinds of fruit in every month of the year. Here, culture and nature merge in harmony and unity.
In this new creation, humanity gets a second chance. Freed from all vices, freed from the need for dominion, we can peacefully tend to the tree of life and the golden city, each other, and all of creation, while praising God and the Lamb in our midst. It is this vision that gives us hope also for the present. The church is called to proclaim her longing for the heavenly Jerusalem in which peaceful and abundant living is possible for all. We are to do that also and especially in times of conflict and war, of destruction and indifference. Where war is waging today, there could be justice and peace tomorrow.
Come and hear more this Sunday, 10 AM, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 745 Front St. S., Issaquah and on YouTube.
