Luke 17:11-19, “Your Will Be Done”
We live in difficult times. There are many reasons to lose heart, to give up, to retreat. But Jesus says, “Pray always and do not lose heart.” Prayer brings you into dialogue with God, and that is transformational. When you pray for others, they become part of the conversation as well. Justice and peace in the world might still be far off in many places, but our prayers for it are steps in the right direction. We don’t know how long the widow in this Sunday’s parable asked for justice: was it days, months, years, decades? Yet, her persistence and her hope eventually led to her vision becoming reality.
