Matthew 11:1-19: “Jesus Lives in You and Me.”

Jesus compares his generation with children sitting in the marketplace and badmouthing others: John lives in the desert in voluntary poverty, and therefore doesn’t eat and drink much, and they say: “He has a demon.” Jesus is kind to people of bad reputation and eats and drinks with them and they say: “He is a glutton and a drunkard.” And the badmouthing is only the first step. Both John and Jesus are presented as dangerous traitors to the government. They are arrested, imprisoned, and executed because of the values they stand for and the vision they proclaim: A vision in which all people can live healthy and meaningful lives with enough food and a roof over their heads. If Jesus walked on earth today, would he be crucified?

Come and find out this Sunday, 10 AM, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 745 Front St S, Issaquah and on YouTube.
