10:00 am Worship
We welcome you to worship this Sunday!
This Sunday, Pr. Olaf is the presider, and Pr. Kristin-Luana is the preacher.
Here is Sunday’s Sermon News:
The Good Samaritan, Luke 10:25-37
The Good Samaritan is one of the most influential bible stories we know. It is the prototypical parable which shows the principle of neighbor love in action.
In the Merriam Webster Dictionary, the Good Samaritan is “a person who is generous in helping those in distress.” Good Samaritan laws offer legal protection to people who give reasonable assistance to those who are, or whom they believe to be, injured, ill, in peril, or otherwise incapacitated. So, the Good Samaritan found his way into the secular world as a person who helps any- and everybody who is in distress. No questions asked. No conditions set.
Jesus explicitly says after he tells this parable: “Go, and do likewise.” If you live in a pluralistic society which values mercy and compassion, this is easy to do. But what if the society you live in discourages neighbor love? Or only allows it to be applied to some people, but not to others? What are you going to do then?
Let’s discern this on Sunday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 745 Front Street S, Issaquah, WA and on YouTube (hopefully!).
