Meeting Jesus in Different Ways, Luke 19:1-10
Zacchaeus is one of my favorite characters in the bible. I think it is because I can relate. He is short. I am short, too. So, I know what it feels like to walk behind a crowd, jumping up occasionally to get a glimpse of the action, but not being able to see. And I have climbed, not up onto a tree, but up onto a wall, to get full view.
It is very helpful when there is a high feature which you can climb. When you are up above the fray, you see the full picture clearly. Most of the time though, we stand in the midst of the crowd, and we cannot see far enough to make an informed decision. For those times, it might be good to have a method of self-examination at hand.
Come this Sunday to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 745 Front St. S., in Issaquah and on YouTube and learn the Christian method of Examen.

REMINDER: DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS—Sunday Morning, November 2
The need to change the clocks back often sneaks up on us! The end of Daylight Saving Time will happen Sunday, November 2: don’t forget to reset your clocks before you go to bed on Saturday night, since the time will fall back one hour on Sunday at 2:00 a.m. You can get an extra hour of sleep! Just think: if you don’t change your clocks back this Sunday, you’ll be an hour early for worship!
