Zachariah 9:9-15: “The King of Kings”

According to the prophet Zachariah, the King of Kings, the Savior of the world, is not arrogant and rich, but humble and poor. Calmy and quietly, he takes apart the weapons of war and brings peace to all nations. Not with pomp and circumstances, but with purpose and mercy. His vulnerability is his strength. The same is true for Jesus Christ. With no concern for himself and no pretensions whatsoever because of his Godly nature, Jesus submits to the unjust worldly powers that seek to hurt and kill him. Jesus’ humility points a spotlight on Caiaphas’ and Pilate’s arrogance. His peacefulness reveals their violence. His righteousness exposes their lies.

How can we serve our country today with peace, justice, and humility? Come this Sunday, 10 AM, to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 745 Front St. S in Issaquah, and on YouTube and find out!
